Technical Services were introduced to the Pitt Cue team by well renowned interior design, Mike Sinclair. After initial pleasantries with the London Hospitality entrepreneurs Richard Turner and Simon Anderson we were presented with a picture of a Grillworks solid fuel grill. At four meters long and weighing 2 tons, this was a seriously substantial piece of kit – a fire breathing monster!
We were asked if we could design a kitchen and mechanical services ventilation and air conditioning around this item of equipment, and advised it would be the first of its kind in the UK. Having had the experience of achieving this type of brief to great success, such as the installation and ventilation for the Argentinian grill at 34 Mayfair, our answer was – “yes of course, anything is possible”.
We carried out detailed consultation and design work with front and back of house staff and both Tom Adams and Jamie Berger were a sheer delight to carry out this process with. Our ADISA product not only created the galley kitchen at the rear of the cooksuite, but was also instrumental within the cocktail bar by the restaurant’s very own microbrewery. The installation of the ambitious project was completed, if a little later than expected due to the enormous amount of structural works which needed to be undertaken to create this outstanding restaurant.
Crispin Sugden, Pitt Cue’s general manager, also requested a front of house fridge display to store and exhibit the restaurant’s extensive collection of wine. This inspired Technical Services to design three bespoke upright refrigerated wine cabinets, which hold approximately 380 bottles per cabinet. Constructed with remote refrigeration condensing units, the heat and sound is removed away from the fridges location, resulting in a more comfortable dining experience for guests.
